WEEK 9

GLOBAL CREATIVE AND MEDIA AGENCY

What is Creative in Art Design and Multimedia ?

Where Did It All Begin? In history, that is hard to say, but one of the earliest and best-known examples of multimedia was the video game Pong. Developed in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell (the founder of a then- new company called Atari), the game consisted of two simple paddles that batted a square "ball" back and forth across the screen, like tennis. It started as an arcade game, and eventually ended up in many homes.

A New Revolution In 1976, another revolution was about to start as friends Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded a startup company called Apple Computer. A year later they unveiled the Apple II, the first computer to use color graphics. The computer revolution moved quickly: 1981 saw IBM's first PC, and in 1984 Apple released the Macintosh, the first computer system to use a graphical user interface (GUI). The Macintosh also bore the first mouse, which would forever change the way people interact with computers.

In 1985, Microsoft released the first version of its Windows operating system. That same year, Commodore released the Amiga, a machine which many experts consider to be the first multimedia computer due to its advanced graphics processing power and innovative user interface. The Amiga did not fare well over the years, though, and Windows has become the standard for desktop computing.

Dadaism?
Dadaism was an art movement of the European avant-garde in the early 20th century. It began in Zurich, Switzerland in 1916, spreading to Berlin shortly thereafter.
Dada was born out of negative reaction to the horrors of World War I. This international movement was begun by a group of artists and poets associated with the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich. Dada rejected reason and logic, prizing nonsense, irrationality and intuition. The origin of the name Dada is unclear; some believe that it is a nonsensical word. Others maintain that it originates from the Romanian artists Tristan Tzara and Marcel Janco’s frequent use of the words da, da, meaning yes, yes in the Romanian language. Another theory says that the name “Dada” came during a meeting of the group when a paper knife stuck into a French-German dictionary happened to point to ‘dada’, a French word for ‘hobbyhorse’
The movement primarily involved visual arts, literature, poetry, art manifestoes, art theory, theatre, and graphic design, and concentrated its anti-war politics through a rejection of the prevailing standards in art through anti-art cultural works. In addition to being anti-war, Dada was also anti-bourgeois and had political affinities with the radical left.

WEEK 8

EXPLORATION ON RANDOM WORD/ IMAGE ASSOCIATION

For those who never smoked, this is a befuddling fact. Don’t smokers understand that cigarettes are the number one killer in WORLD , that they dramatically increase risk for heart disease, stroke, cancer, high blood pressure, and almost every other health concern, small or large? How could any habit be worth this?

Truth is, most smokers do understand. They also understand the huge financial toll of smoking, with a pack of 20 cigarettes costing $10 in some areas and a year on cigarettes by pack-a-day smokers — often people of only modest resources.

Then why do millions still smoke? In good part, because the nicotine in cigarettes is highly addictive. In good part, because smoking provides psychological comfort to some people. Perhaps most of all, because quitting smoking is so hard.
Researchers and businesses have responded strongly to the last point. Never have there been so many tools, systems, and programs available for quitting smoking. And with every month that passes, there is more research showing the benefits of quitting, and the drawbacks of not quitting.

So if you smoke, consider again whether it is time, finally, to quit. If yes, you’ll need to think through the best approach, perhaps working with your doctor or an expert. But the following tips will help you succeed :

1. To minimize cravings, change your routine. Sit in a different chair at breakfast or take a different route to work. If you usually have a drink and cigarette after work, change that to a walk. If you’re used to a smoke with your morning coffee, switch to tea, or stop at Starbucks for a cup of java — the chain is smoke-free.

2. Tell your friends, coworkers, boss, partner, kids, etc., how you feel about situations instead of bottling up your emotions. If something makes you angry, express it instead of smothering it with cigarette smoke. If you’re bored, admit to yourself that you’re bored and find something energetic to do instead of lighting up.

3. Put all the money you’re saving on cigarettes in a large glass jar. You want to physically see how much you’ve been spending. Earmark that money for something you’ve always dreamed of doing, but never thought you could afford, be it a cruise to Alaska or a first-class ticket to visit an old college friend.

4. Switch your cigarette habit for a nut habit — four nuts in their shell for every cigarette you want to smoke. This way, you’re using your hands and your mouth, getting the same physical and oral sensations you get from smoking.
5. Carry some cinnamon-flavored toothpicks with you. Suck on one whenever a cig craving hits.
6. Make an appointment with an acupuncturist. There’s some evidence that auricular acupuncture (i.e., needles in the ears) curbs cigarette cravings quite successfully, says Ather Ali, N.D., a naturopathic physician completing a National Institutes of Health-sponsored postdoctoral research fellowship at the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center in Derby, Connecticut. You can even do it yourself by taping “seeds” (small beads) onto the acupuncture points and squeezing them whenever cravings arise.
7. Swing by the health food store for some Avena sativa (oat) extract. One study found that, taken at 1 milliliters four times daily, it helped habitual tobacco smokers significantly decrease the number of cigarettes they smoked.
8. Think of difficult things you have done in the past. Ask people who know you well to remind you of challenges you have successfully overcome, says Dr. Lieberman. This will give you the necessary self-confidence to stick with your pledge not to smoke.

#Traffic Light
Traffic lights, also known as traffic signals, traffic lamps, signal lights, robots and semaphores., are signalling devices positioned at or near road intersections, pedestrian crossings and other locations to control competing flows of traffic. Traffic lights were first installed in 1868 in London, United Kingdom now used in almost every city of the world. Traffic lights alternate the right of way accorded to road users by displaying lights of a standard color (red, yellow/amber, and green) following a universal color code (and a precise sequence to enable comprehension by those who are color blind).

In the typical sequence of color phases: Illumination of the green light allows traffic to proceed in the direction denoted, if it is safe to do so. Illumination of the orange/amber light denoting prepare to stop short of the intersection, if it is safe to do so.  Illumination of the red signal prohibits any traffic from proceeding .Usually, the red light contains some orange in its hue, and the green light contains some blue, said to be for the benefit of people with red-green color blindness.

So how does one connect stop smoking and traffic light??
Solution:

Sign : Use an irritating sign to stop smokers to smoke

Metal : Create a small metal for smokers to slow down their smoking habit in the cigarette.
Dirty : Cigarette manufactures should add a bit of mud in the product.

WEEK 7

EXPLORATION ON JUXTAPOSITION; ANALOGY, METAPHOR & SIMILES

# Let's play a gameesssssss !!! :)

1. Pick any three of "double-number" from 01 to 99
    - I choose 10,12 and 44

2. These are the words for each numbers

1.Flower        0.Head
2.Lightning    9.Rain
3.Ice               8.Wood
4.Light           7.Tree
5.Fire             6.Spider
6.Duck           5.Root
7.Dog             4.Mountain
8.Oil               3.Wing
9.Leave          2.Rock
0.Fly              1.Water

3. So, my words are :

- Flower, Head
-Flower, Lightning
-Light, Mountain

4. Simple sentences from those words

- I put the flower at her head
- I was shocked after I see the flower got lightning
- I feel like in paradise after saw the light mountain in my dream

5. These the crazy sketch that I do HAHA

What is Juxtaposition??
Juxtaposition is simply the placing of two things that are different near to each other. It has the tendency to draw attention to the qualities of each.
For example: if you notice your teeth when you have a suntan look whiter than they do if you don’t have a tan. The white teeth appear whiter and the tan appears darker because of the juxtaposition of the two.
Here is some of my example of Juxtaposition
The Cilli Juxtaposition
Red Hot cilli pepper
something so hot and strong
once eaten with just a little bite
you’ll defintely begging for more
Red Hot cilli pepper
so hot, yet so long
once inside your mouth
It will never want to come out
The Pestel Juxtaposition
I was once just a pestel
without anything to bang
I was taken out from my home
without anything to be told
I was once just a pestel
Alone, long, and cold
It was one day, I got suck to a big hole
who was named mortar, to be told
Now i’m a happy pestel
with things to crush and kill
If there isn’t anything to bang
At least i still know, i still got a hole

WEEK 6

METHOD OF CREATIVE THINKING .
ASSOCIATED MIND MAP

The mortar is a bowl, typically made of hard wood, ceramic or stone. The pestle is a heavy club-shaped object, the end of which is used for crushing and grinding. The substance to be ground is placed in the mortar and ground, crushed or mixed with the pestle. Sometimes referred to as an "Apothecary Grinder" by individuals unfamiliar with its use, the proper historical name is "mortar and pestle". The mortar and pestle is usually utilised when cooking and when crushing ingredients for a certain drug inpharmacies. It can also be used in masonry and other types of construction where the mortar and pestle is needed. So… let’s see other things you can do with this items :)

WEEK 5

INVENTION - INNOVATION

1. Not all  inventions bring innovation, remember. What can we learn from here?

example 1 glass : Use these cute glass markers to distinguish drinking glasses. These party glass markers take less than 5 minutes to make : hot glue a button to a small suction cup.

example 2 window : Old salvaged multi-pane windows make great picture frames with some slight modifications. I cut mattes of fit inside the panes and then sealed the back up with another piece of thin wood. The effect works great with photos that have a unifying theme of some sort.

example 3 plates : Obviously not an invention, but I've found it's ecological and efficient. Licking the plates after eating means: I ate ALL my food (good girl !). No leftovers to trash (reduces daily waste) or to clog the drain. Easier to wash the dishes (less soap and force needed, cleaner sponge). Seriously great ! :D

I know that is a relatively different thing that I’m trying to explain, but if you twist it around, it can be an example for how the failed innovations in the time can lead to something more in the future.

MINDMAP

So what is a mindmap you might ask? Well A mind map is a diagram used to visually outline information. A mind map is often created around a single word or text, placed in the center, to which associated ideas, words and concepts are added. Major categories radiate from a central node, and lesser categories are sub-branches of larger branches. Categories can represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items related to a central key word or idea.
Mindmaps can be drawn by hand, either as “rough notes” during a lecture or meeting, for example, or as higher quality pictures when more time is available. An example of a rough mind map is illustrated.
Mainly people use a mindmap to to some structure presentation effectively, to express their creativity and for team building activities. Many things can be written inside the mindmap like, Describing who you are? Writing about an idea, or also some random thing.
The best thing is, there is no wrong in making a mindmap, it is simply open for options to design it in any way that you wish.
